Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities.  We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.

This position is available due to VICSES implementing a new operating model with a change to the structure of roles, to best serve the needs of our community and our people.

The Community Resilience Coordinator is an integral role within the Unit Support Team, responsible for developing and delivering community focussed programs to achieve the goals of the VICSES Community Resilience and Renewal Strategy.

Through direct engagement with the Victorian community, key stakeholders and Volunteer Units, the Community Resilience Coordinator builds the capability of our members including working alongside volunteers to facilitate community engagement programs and supporting the recruitment and retention of SES Volunteers.

Out of hours work, including weekends, and travel will be required to assist in the response to incidents and the delivery of community engagement activities and programs and provision of support to Units.

VICSES staff are required to comply with the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Direction and all successful candidates are required to provide their vaccination status before commencing employment.

VICSES is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to being a child safe organisation and are taking a leadership role in gender equality in the emergency management sector. For more information on our values and the benefits of working with us, please click here -
