About the Role
Within this role you will be responsible for administering the legal and financial affairs to a portfolio of represented persons, as appointed by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), who no longer have the capacity to manage their own affairs. This portfolio will include legal, complex or highly sensitive matters that require timely resolution.

Duties

While the scope of the legally appointed Administrator encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities this role focuses on the following activities:

  • Investigating potential legal remedies
  • Managing identified legal issues
  • Managing complex asset structures (including farms and businesses)
  • Managing complex family dynamics
  • Attending Court (to provide instructions to acting solicitors)
  • Attending mediations (to provide instructions to acting solicitors)
  • Appearing before Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal- Guardianship List

Skills and Experience

  • Well-developed professional communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare commercial standard correspondence & reports
  • Understanding and experience dealing with clients with a disability
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring others
  • Intermediate financial analysis skills
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation particularly the Trustees Act 1958, Guardianship and Administration Act 1986 and State Trustees (State Owned Company) Act 1994

Experience in a legal background and/or trustee/financial services field will be highly regarded.
