CSSD /Theatre Technician


Permanent Part Time Position

A position has become available in the Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD) at Echuca Regional Health & REDHS. The CSSD is committed to the excellence in patient care through the effective processing of reusable surgical and medical equipment and the provision of sterile supplies.

As a member of the health care team the instrument technician decontaminates, packages, and sterilises theatre and ward equipment and sterile supplies, and maintains clean and hygienic surroundings in the CSSD. This position would also include on site training as a theatre technician.

Desirable Requirements

Knowledge and experience and/or qualifications in sterilising technology an advantage but a willingness to learn and undertake a Sterilising Technology course. 

Ability to obtain a thorough knowledge of instruments/equipment and supplies processed in CSSD, and to initiate appropriate action and follow protocols for the decontamination and sterilisation of equipment. 

Demonstrated ability to work individually as well as a member of a team.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to prioritise work in order to meet departmental priorities.

This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check prior to appointment.
