About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Finance Manager. The role will lead a team responsible for the development and financial management of project budgets across PTV. Working closely with Portfolio Governance & Reporting, this role is responsible for the financial governance of projects ensuring accuracy, timeliness and integrity of project accounting.

What we're looking for

Essential (must have to be considered for the position)

  • Extensive financial management experience particularly project accounting in a complex project environment including the development, management and review of large capital investment budgets. Demonstrated experience in the management of accounting systems, including integration with project management and reporting tools.
  • Experience in a senior role providing financial leadership in a complex environment with exceptional knowledge of and experience in financial reporting, both internally, externally and to the Board.
  • Outstanding organisational, analytical, evaluative and decision making skills along with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with experience negotiating at the most senior level within an organisation.
  • Experience in negotiation strategies along with demonstrated ability to create, lead and implement systems and processes improvements.
  • Management of a high performing team of professionals with demonstrated and robust knowledge and skills, evidenced in excellent communication, reliable, and targeted financial reporting
  • Demonstrated history of the management of accounting systems with experience in integration with project management and reporting tools.
  • High level expertise and understanding of accounting standards and practices, the Financial Management Act 2006, government accounting/budgetary rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to provide authoritative strategic and commercial advice and guidance to management and people within the organisation to assist with decision making on financial and accounting issues.
  • Highly developed writing skills, with the ability to develop reports, briefs and presentations to PTV Executive and Government stakeholders.

Qualifications

Mandatory

  • An appropriate degree qualification (such as accounting or finance).
  • Formal Accounting qualifications (CPA/ICAA)

Desirable

  • Post Graduate Qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Business Administration) or minimum 10 years relevant post graduate experience
