About us

The Quality and Standards Unit sits in the Offender Management Division, Corrections Victoria, within the Department of Justice and Regulation.  The Quality and Standards unit has a dedicated focus on monitoring and enhancing the quality of programs designed to reduce reoffending and services that engage offenders in positive behavioural change. We focus on ensuring all programs are delivered to the highest standards and meet best practice.

About the role

You will be responsible for program development and supporting and providing critical oversight of services relating to offender rehabilitation programs for prisoners and offenders across the correctional system and transitioning into the community. As such, your focus will be to:

  • Develop frameworks  and policy for the branch operations
  • Inform and maintain minimum standards for service delivery across a range of      portfolios
  • Monitor service delivery practices to ensure compliance with minimum standards
  • Conduct evidence based and cyclical evaluation / audits and implement service improvement processes
  • Work in consultation with key service areas across Corrections Victoria to ensure      robust performance monitoring

You will lead, plan, consult and advise on program development and the implementation and delivery of quality improvement initiatives for prisoners and offenders.

You have:

  • understanding and awareness of the key issues impacting Corrections Victoria,
  • experience in the design and development of complex programs and services for vulnerable cohorts,
  • a focus on service excellence
  • initiative and accountability and
  • excellent interpersonal skills.
