Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. An exciting full time, fixed term opportunity is available until 4 July 2019 within the Offender Rehabilitation Unit.

The Rehabilitation and Reintegration Branch of the Offender Management Division, is responsible for the design and development of a range of programs and services to effectively facilitate and support positive behaviour change. The branch is responsible for Corrections Victoria's strategic statewide service and program development across prisons and community corrections for a range of cohorts (indigenous, women, disability, youth and ageing) in accordance with Government and service priorities. 

The Programs Officer role is responsible for the development and implementation of services and programs across a range of portfolios within the Rehabilitation and Reintegration Branch. The role will also actively respond to emerging issues to ensure responsivity to strategic, operational and service demands as well as informing ongoing service and quality improvement of services to ensure best practice is maintained.

As our ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in the design and development of programs and services across the community services sector.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Developed analytical skills to gather relevant information and test a range of solutions to solve complex problems.
  • Understanding and awareness of the key issues impacting Corrections Victoria, particularly within the area of program and services for prisoners and offenders.
  • Strong project and contract management capabilities to plan, negotiate and implement service delivery outcomes and improvements.
