About us

Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's corrections system, which incorporates prisons and Community Correctional Services. As a service agency within the Department of Justice and Regulation, CV develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

Corrections Application & Technology Services (CATS) is a business unit within CV that is responsible for sourcing, implementing, maintaining and supporting business solutions and technology essential to the day-to-day operations of CV. CATS operates a project and program delivery area responsible for managing CV’s portfolio of strategic technology projects. The Manager, Program and Project Delivery is a member of the CATS Leadership team, led by the General Manager, CATS.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, CATS, the position’s primary responsibility is to provide high-level leadership to a large team of multi-disciplinary, highly-skilled project professionals. This involves providing day-to-day management of project resources (including a pool of project support staff), ensuring they meet their project management commitments. The position will plan and manage the procurement / recruitment of project resources to ensure current and developing project portfolio demand is met.

The position will provide expert advice and consultancy on all project management related matters, quality assure key project artefacts, attend governance forums, participate in major project procurement processes, and support project managers in managing commercial issues.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • a demonstrated experience in the establishment of a team of project managers and other skilled resources to deliver multiple complex and high quality ICT projects
  • a proven ability to effectively lead and manage teams to foster initiative, promote teamwork, achieve outcomes, meet deadlines and produce high quality, value for money outcomes
  • excellent communication, planning and contract management skills.

A relevant tertiary qualification in IT is desirable.
