Position Details

Product Owner – Offender Management

  • Full-time, Ongoing Position
  • Opportunity to lead the development and enhancement of systems to align with business needs
  • Salary range: $92,253 - $111,619 (plus superannuation)

About us

The Offender Management Division of Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including case management, offending behaviour programs, and transition and reintegration supports. The Offender Management Division is also responsible for the Secretariat of the Victorian Adult Parole Board. The Rehabilitation and Reintegration Branch of the Offender Management Division, is responsible for the design and development of a range of programs and services to effectively facilitate and support positive behaviour change. The Branch holds the following portfolios:

  • Naalamba Ganbu and Nerrlinggu Yilam* (Cultural Integrity and Resilience Unit), supporting Aboriginal programs and policy.
  • Programs and support for women, youth, those with a disability and the ageing.
  • Transition and Reintegration services on entry to prison and through to post-release.
  • Family Violence intervention.
  • Offence specific, offence related, psycho-educational and personal development and wellbeing interventions for serious violent and general offenders.

About the role

The Product Owner will work within a diverse team environment and report directly to the Assistant Manager, System Integrity. They will work closely with the Corrections Applications Technology (CATS) and Rehabilitation and Reintegration Branch to facilitate the ongoing development and improvement of its operating systems.

As the Product Owner you will lead and consult with key stakeholders from various business areas across the Branch and Corrections Victoria to ensure the alignment between service delivery requirements and system design. This role will also act as the Primary Subject Matter Expert for these systems and provide training and ongoing support to end users located centrally and across all Corrections Victoria locations.

The role will also consist of a diverse range of tasks and involve working with multiple business units in a stimulating fast pace environment.

About you

To be successful you will have:

  • Extensive knowledge of the Commissioner's Information Systems including E*Justice, Prisoner Information Management System (PIMS), Corrections Victoria Information Management System (CVIMS) and Prisoner Reintegration Information System (PRIS) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing and documenting business requirements and re-creating these as product backlog items.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse issues and determine priorities in an environment of tight and conflicting deadlines, to take initiative and work under limited direction.
