Position Details

This newly created opportunity exists for an Operations Manager on an ongoing basis.

The Rivergum Residential Treatment Centre (RRTC), which will accommodate up to 20 male residents when operational in late 2018, is being established as part of the Victorian Government's commitment to strengthening the management of serious offenders in Victoria and will be located near the rural city of Ararat in south-west Victoria, adjacent to the Hopkins Correctional Centre.

The RRTC will be non-punitive in nature and have a strong focus on therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation. In addition, it will be consistent with the overarching intent of the post-sentence scheme by providing secure accommodation and enhancing community protection.

Reporting to the General Manager RRTC, the Operations Manager will be a member of the RRTC leadership team and will oversee day-to-day operations of RRTC and provide support to the General Manager. The Operations Manager will lead a team responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and management of offenders as well as a range of quality assurance activities including the maintenance of professional standards and best practice service delivery.

This position will work full-time at the RRTC in Ararat, however some travel to Melbourne CBD and the broader Grampians region may be required for meetings.

Following establishment, the Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the centre's operations, including specialist knowledge to provide high level analysis and recommendations on emerging operational issues and trends to provide seamless and efficient quality assurance activities including the maintenance of professional standards and best practice service delivery.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • Experience working in an operational management role with a complex and challenging offender cohort
  • Proven understanding of the operational management requirements within a criminal justice system; and
  • The ability to efficiently manage operational issues, whilst remaining considerate of legislative and stakeholder needs.
