An exciting new ongoing opportunity exists for a Manager, Operations, Post Sentence Branch within Corrections Victoria.

About Us

The Serious Sex Offenders (Detention and Supervision) Act 2009 (SSODSA) sets out a civil, non-punitive scheme that provides for ongoing supervision or detention of serious sex offenders who have completed their prison sentence and pose an unacceptable risk of committing further sexual offences. Correction Victoria's end-to-end management and delivery of services to serious sex offenders on post-sentence orders occurs through a multi-faceted governance and operating model. The Post Sentence Branch, within the Offender Management Division of Corrections Victoria, provides central oversight and governance of the post sentence scheme and offenders subject to post sentence orders. It is intended that the scheme will be expanded to serious violent offenders in 2018.

About the Role

As the Manager, Operations you will manage the operations team and is responsible for overseeing the day to day management and monitoring of offenders subject to post sentence supervision orders, and the development of operational policies, frameworks and procedures to support the effective management of offenders.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will demonstrate:

  • High level leadership skills to ensure the management of post sentence offenders are compliant with legislative and Department policy and guidelines
  • Ability to provide authoritative advice and briefings to senior management and the Secretary regarding management of post sentence offenders
  • Proven experience working within a legislative framework with complex clients.

This position is designed to address high-level government policy, legal, stakeholder and operational priorities. Your ability to utilise your knowledge of service delivery standards in a correctional environment and build an effective network with key stakeholders to provide expert advice will be critical to the success of this role.
