An exciting opportunity exists for an Assistant Manager on an ongoing basis in the Electronic Monitoring Program within Security and Intelligence Division, Corrections Victoria.

About Us

Corrections Victoria is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's corrections system, which incorporates prisons and Community Correctional Services. As a service agency within the Department of Justice & Regulation, Corrections Victoria develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

Corrections Victoria manages approximately 59 Community Correctional Services locations across the state and is responsible for managing Victoria's eleven public prisons, and overseeing the contracts relating to the management of three privately operated prisons. In doing so, Corrections Victoria delivers a safe and secure corrections system that actively engages offenders and the community to promote positive behaviour change.

Corrections Victoria's Electronic Monitoring Program is a business unit within the Security & Intelligence Division. The Electronic Monitoring Program maintains oversight of the state-wide program and management of the Electronic Monitoring Centre.

About the Role

The Assistant Manager, Electronic Monitoring Program is responsible for monitoring and supporting the state-wide operations of the Corrections Victoria Electronic Monitoring Program. They provide authoritative advice, training and support for the technological and operating frameworks to the Community Corrections Services regions, Electronic Monitoring Centre and other stakeholders. They will also be responsible for undertaking testing of the monitoring hardware as part of the quality assurance framework within the branch. 

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • Practical knowledge and understanding of current and emerging issues in the management of offenders
  • Advanced written, presentation and computer skills, including the application of complex word processing, spreadsheet or database functions
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Developed analytical skills to gather relevant information and test a range of solutions to solve complex problems.

This role will require occasional travel to regional locations and head office (Melbourne) as required and afterhours on call duties (approximately one week in every five).
