About the role
As the District Manager for Waterways, you will provide operational leadership to the District Management Team and all staff within the district. Your role will involve managing the iconic Herring Island, Yarra, and Maribyrnong Rivers. Additionally, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with the broader community, including key stakeholders, friends' groups, volunteers, businesses, and officers within relevant Government Departments. Your duties will also include managing the financial, governance, and risk management requirements and controls for the district.
We're looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated evidence in the management of people and performance standards that enable achievement of the organisation's corporate and business plans and objectives including the ability to develop and monitor complex work programs.
- Proven issue identification, analytical and research skills, problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to develop innovative, sensitive, and practical solutions and provide strategic advice to complex issues.
- Experience in complex engagement and stakeholder management is required.
