About the Role

The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages Victoria (BDM) has been recording significant life events for Victorians since 1853. An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Senior Project Officer to join the Business Strategy and Development (BSD) team, working on future-focused projects to transform service delivery at BDM. This position is a 12-month role, dedicated to project delivery in the newly created Victorian Department of Government Services.

A typical week in this role might look like:

  • Facilitating a discovery workshop with Operational team members to understand the ‘current state' of a particular service.
  • Meeting with key stakeholders to present project updates and gather feedback.
  • Working with the Strategic Communications team to develop a project communication and marketing plan.
  • Hosting a weekly sandbox team meeting to share and develop techniques to engage end-users in the design process.
  • Visiting a potential venue for a project pilot.
  • Participating in design meetings with Service Victoria and BDM operations to develop a new online booking platform.
  • Mapping BDM business and system process.
  • Gathering business requirements and cost changes with our systems vendor.
  • Perparing agendas, participating and minute-taking in Steering Committee meetings.
  • Attending daily Stand-Up's, collaborating with team members and participating in project sprint planning.

About you

We are looking for a collaborative, agile, outcomes focused team member. Bring your project management, delivery experience and creative critical thinking to support the planning, development and implementation of key BDM projects. We are looking for someone who is excited to help deliver BDM's service transformation, support the continuous improvement of our operating model and reimagine the way we deliver services to Victorians.

  • Take a leading role in the design, development and delivery of team projects.
  • Develop relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work across projects and multi-disciplinary teams to share your project delivery knowledge, build capability and develop your practice.

Further key accountabilities can be found in the position description.
