The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Senior Manager Risk and Resilience to provide a critical role at Corporate Services and Infrastructure.
About the Business Unit
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.
The Governance and Assurance business unit, within the Corporate Services and Infrastructure Group, leads key governance, risk, and assurance functions for the department. This includes legislative and policy accountabilities in relation to risk management, insurance, audit, emergency management and business continuity, environmental sustainability and climate action. It also co-ordinates key corporate reporting to government, including the Department Performance Statement, and maintains the department's project management framework and associated controls and reporting systems. Governance and Assurance also delivers a range of statutory and business services on behalf of the department, including Freedom of Information, and secretariat services for the Audit and Risk Management Committee, the Justice Human Research Ethics Committee and the Lotteries and Gambling Licences Independent Review Panel.
About the Role
The Senior Manager Risk and Resilience provides critical leadership to the department's risk and resilience programs, driving a cultural uplift and improved compliance to improve departmental decision making and readiness across the full range of corporate risks.
The Senior Manager provides high quality, authoritative and expert advice and recommendations to the senior executive on risk and resilience matters, including governance arrangements, policies, standards and guidelines and their application to operations. They demonstrate highly developed relationship building and stakeholder management skills, with a track record in building and maintaining successful effective relationships and high levels of credibility with senior stakeholders across a diverse client base.
Some of your duties will include:
- Lead the development, delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement of the department's frameworks, associated policies and strategies, for risk management and organisational resilience.
- Ensure compliance against all standards and government policies in risk and resilience, including coordinating relevant attestation activity.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Expert understanding of broader principles, standards and legislative requirements in risk and resilience.
- Significant experience in developing, delivering, monitoring and assessing frameworks and policies for risk and organisational resilience.
- Significant knowledge and experience in governance and public administration.
Qualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification would be highly desirable.
