About Us:

The Road Safety manages Victoria's road safety camera network and is a representative for the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) in Victoria's road safety partnership. Road Safety contributes to this partnership in the operation of road safety cameras, and the policy and strategic directions of the broader road safety enforcement. Road Safety is accountable to the Minister for Police and the Office of the Road Safety Camera Commissioner.

About the Role:

The Contracts Management team has overall responsibility for monitoring all contracts and agreements that support the delivery of a wide range of road safety camera services. The Senior Contracts Adviser, is primarily responsible for the management of key contracts and agreements across the range of Road Safety services. This includes management and assessment of contractor/supplier performance and providing authoritative advice and information regarding contractual obligations.

The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders, including Victoria Police operational members, concerning the crossover of contractual performance with operational components of Road Safety's Mobile Camera Program om support of ensuring the mobile camera program is operationally effective

This role will provide direct support to the State's commitment to effectively manage the road safety camera network as well as directly impact the delivery of key enforcement initiatives that DJCS is responsible for under the Victorian Government's Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030 and associated Road Safety Action Plan 2021-2024 and 2024 - 2027.

The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders, including Victoria Police operational members, concerning the crossover of contractual performance with operational components of Road Safety's Mobile Camera Program in support of ensuring the mobile camera program is operationally effective.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing professional leadership and guidance to staff, including supervising and monitoring performance and providing timely feedback to facilitate employee development.
  • Initiating and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contract partners at peer or senior levels.
  • Providing professional advice and information to senior management on the resolution of complex issues and problems which impact operational performance of the mobile camera program and associated contractual agreements, including fee reductions and default mechanisms.

About You:

As an ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in monitoring operational service delivery against performance specifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a highly regulated environment with experience in the managing contractual aspects of a complex operational delivery service model.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex policy and issues and to provide accurate and strategic advice.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare well-written, timely, concise, accurate and audience-appropriate briefings, presentations, reports, and documents for publication.  
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing, interpreting, and presenting data or information to senior management on key issues.
