  • VPS Grade 4: $95,102 - $107,905 plus superannuation

About Us:

The CV Prisons Learning & Development team manages specialised projects and provides consultancy services to Corrections Victoria. As part of its consultancy role, CV L&D coordinates and provides support to prison General Managers, Workforce Development Supervisor/Advisors and workplace trainers and assessors. The team also develops, manages and coordinates the training for CV prison staff and supports the Prison Officer (PO) pre-service training programs and squad leaders responsible for the delivery of the programs.

About the Role:

The primary function of the Senior Officer, Learning and Capability role is to facilitate the specialist training sessions for trainee prison officers and prison staff. Working closely with the Consultant Learning and Capability, the position will provide support in quality assuring and coordinating training & resources for pre-service programs and in-service programs.

Some of your other duties will include:

  • Reviewing and conducting evaluations of new and existing programs and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.
  • Supporting and providing sound advice to stakeholders to ensure Prison Officer pre-service programs run smoothly and effectively.
  • Assessing and promoting successful completion of the Correctional qualifications.

Due to the frequency and location of PO pre-service training, this position will be required to travel to and from prison locations, requiring overnight stays where necessary.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • High level facilitation, presentation and interactive training delivery skills.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of the Prison operating environment.
  • Understanding of AQTF standards for assessment.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) is essential.
  • A current Victorian driver's licence.
  • Certificate III and/or Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Custodial) is essential.
  • Tactical Operations Instructors are encouraged to apply.
