Position Details

  • A Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service until 28th February 2027
  • VPS Grade 6: $134,593 - $180,115 plus superannuation.

About the Business Unit:

Redress Design and Delivery (RDD) is responsible for administering two redress schemes that acknowledge past harm, provide a range of support options for individuals who have experienced harm, and operate independently from the organisation responsible for causing the harm. It provides high-quality strategic policy advice, and is responsible for administration and delivery of frontline services.

The RDD business unit administers the schemes via ‘scheme based teams.' Each team consists of a Senior Manager, Team Leader, Principal Consultant, Senior Consultants, Senior Assessors and support staff. The Strategy and Operations team provide policy, compliance, monitoring and business support across all three Schemes.  

RDD is currently responsible for the following Redress Schemes:

  • Administering a redress scheme for Victoria Police employees who have experienced workplace sex discrimination and/or sexual harassment. This redress scheme provides front-line support services, assessment of applications, and provision of financial redress outcomes to eligible participants and is implementing a tailored Restorative Engagement program. The Police Scheme is now closed, applications are still be reviewed and assessed and outcomes delivered.   
  • Delivering a redress scheme for Fiskville affected persons in response to recommendations from the 2016 Inquiry into the Fiskville Training College Final Report. The scheme provides financial redress, which acknowledges past harm and offers financial and non-financial support.

About the Role:

The Senior Manager, Fiskville reports to, and will work collaboratively with, the Executive Lead, Redress Implementation to effectively deliver redress assessment decisions to applicants. 

Some of your duties will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with all authorisations designated to the Senior Manager position while overseeing and guiding staff to follow the same designated authorisations ensuring processes, tasks and activities align with established policies and practice
  • Providing advice, strategic direction and quality assurance to staff undertaking assessment and case management work to ensure rigorous, consistent, and integrated practices that align with the schemes' parameters and policies.
  • Providing high-level advice and support on policy issues relevant to the schemes, and other policy issues to support a trauma informed approach to engaging with participants of the redress scheme.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • qualification in law, policy or public administration from a recognised tertiary institution is desired. Experience working in social policy, legal policy and/or senior leadership roles will be well-regarded.

  • A strong ability to understand and apply complex regulatory, compliance and authorisation frameworks relevant to the organisation's operations
  • Significant leadership and staff management experience, preferably in a service delivery context
  • Strong conceptual skills with the ability to analyse complex policy and legal issues, interpret legislation and provide accurate and strategic advice across a range of areas relevant to the schemes
  • High-level analytical and policy skills, including use of data to inform policy development and government decision-making processes
