At the VBA, we are undertaking some really interesting and exciting organisational change. Part of this includes boosting our internal capabilities and adding expertise into the Research and Evaluation function. As a Data Analyst in this team, you will be working across a number of interesting projects and engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders to produce timely and accurate information for business needs.

The Role

You will be working across multiple projects with a variety of stakeholders, ultimately providing expert advice and analytic support in the following capacity:

  • Assists in identifying, monitoring and reporting on emerging issues and risks and research opportunities
  • Undertake collection, detailed analysis and interpretation of data maintained by the VBA and external sources such as Consumer Affairs Victoria, the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority and Local Government Authorities.
  • Provide analytical support to in-house research projects, and identify further research and stakeholder analysis opportunities
  • Assess current and future data needs to monitoring and evaluation of the building and plumbing regulatory frameworks

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics, information management and statistical skills and analysis, including the use of quantitative analysis techniques
  • Tertiary qualifications in statistics, business or other relevant discipline
  • Well-developed ability to identify and analyse trends, and be aware of industry activity
  • Must have current working rights for Australia
