About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Workforce Policy and Programs (WPP) division sits within Kindergarten Expansion and Pre-Prep Reform (KEPPR) and leads on the implementation of key early childhood workforce strategy, projects and programs that support the implementation of the Best Start, Best Life reforms. The division has a particular focus on increasing early childhood teacher and educator supply and attraction. The work of the division is built on a strong foundation of collaboration with all relevant internal stakeholders and the key external stakeholders with whom we are partnering to successfully deliver these policies and programs.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced VPS3 to join the Employment Programs team in Workforce Policy and Programs Division for a fixed term position for up to 6 months (30/09/2025).
In this role, you will support the administration and implementation of programs designed to attract more people to become early childhood teachers and educators, including through recruitment agency support, financial incentives and the Early Childhood Jobs website. You will be responsible for planning and undertaking administrative tasks relating to these programs including oversight of a shared team inbox, invoicing, collecting and analysing data and reporting on project metrics.
The Employment Programs team maintains collaborative working relationships with partner organisations to deliver high-quality programs and seeks to continuously improve programs through evaluation and identification of new opportunities.

- providing administrative and corporate support throughout the program lifecycle
- collecting and analysing evidence, data and insights to help inform program design and implementation under general direction of senior staff
- building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on program objectives, including program suppliers and regional teams
- providing high quality and timely written and verbal advice to decision makers, including through drafting program recommendations and responses to enquiries or correspondence under the general direction of senior staff
- applying sound project management, critical thinking and problem solving to programs
- being an integral part of a high-performing team within a dynamic environment, contributing to a collaborative and productive team culture.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Experience in relevant field.
