Analyst - Ongoing Full Time
About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Budget Strategy and Funding Reform Division (BSFRD) is responsible for:
- providing analysis and strategic advice on the effective and efficient allocation of resources
- coordinating the development of funding and state budget submissions
- reviewing, developing and implementing major reforms to educational funding models
- leading the development of the department's Strategic Plan and Annual Report, and Statements of Expectation for the portfolio's regulators
- delivering the strategic risk management and business continuity functions for the department
- supporting better practice integrated planning and risk practices across the department.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join the friendly, high-performing Budget Strategy team and play a key role in achieving the department's priorities through development of the annual education budget. This includes:
- coordinating the department's budget development process, including facilitation of workshops for budget bid authors and liaison with other departments
- providing quality assurance on budget bids
- providing high-quality analysis, reports, papers, presentations, and briefings within agreed timelines.
