Position Details
This is a Fixed Term, Full Time position until 31/12/2026
A fantastic opportunity exists within the Business Services Branch within the Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) for a detailed IT Audit and Compliance specialist to manage the implementation of audit actions for IMTD for a 12 month period.
About the Role
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and writing detailed briefs and reports for senior management.
- Reviewing and providing feedback on audit reports provided by Internal Audit and VAGO to ensure clarity, accuracy and completeness of their findings.
- Managing the audit and compliance activities for the division from conception to completion, ensuring IMTD completes and implements action actions efficiently and effectively
- Actively engaging with stakeholders, including the internal audit team, to ensure alignment and understanding of the audit and policy requirements and recommendations.
- Coordinating meetings between various stakeholders and facilitate discussions to address audit findings and policy compliance issues.
- Identifying opportunities for improving audit and policy processes.
- Maintaining and updating documentation related to policy, audit findings, recommendations, and compliance actions.
- Providing regular updates to senior management on the status of audit recommendations; as well as delivering high quality, well-considered assurance and policy advice.
- Supporting the development and implementation of IT audit actions, to improve internal controls and ensure compliance.
- Ensuring policies are developed, reviewed and maintained regularly, clear comprehensive and aligned to standards and organisational best practice.
- Draft policy proposals with IMTD Branches, with supporting briefs, and assess potential impacts of proposed policies
The IT Audit and Compliance Specialist serves as a key liaison point between Internal Audit and IMTD, focussing on the successful implementation of audit recommendation. This role does not involve conducting audits but focuses on the audit and compliance process through tracking, coordinating, and supporting IMTD Branches in making required changes to meet the audit findings. Additionally, the position also provides support and backup for the coordination of ICT policy development across the Division.
Attributes:
Reporting to the Manager of the Business Management Services team, the role requires a strong IT background, combined with the ability to prepare clear and concise briefs and detailed reports for senior management. It also involves liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders and identifying opportunities for process improvement including the development of policies. It's important to note that this position does not involve conducting audits but focuses on audit and compliance process through supporting the Division in the implementation of actions to address the associated risks.
