About the Department
The role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.
About the Division
IMTD is responsible for supporting one of the largest technology networks in Victoria and leading the department's technology, digital capability, business systems and digital transformation. This network consists of Schools, Corporate and Early Childhood Education (ECE) including a school user base of more than 1500 Government schools, 50,000 teachers and 650,000 students.
IMTD provides innovation and leadership in the transformation and management of the Department's digital capability through the implementation of solutions on the department's cloud environment (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software (SaaS), using agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, and integration.
About the Branch
The purpose of the Business Services Branch is to deliver professional and quality services that supports IMTD to achieve its goals.
The key services provided to meet this objective are:
- Providing reporting to enable informed decision making
- Optimising outcomes through contract management processes
- Supporting IMTD to meet their compliance and assurance obligations
- Supporting people to transition to new ways of working
- Contribute to the planning, sourcing and developing required capabilities
About the Role
Commencement date - 1 July 2026.
Reporting to the Director, Business Services Branch, the Manager, Business Management Services is accountable for delivering strategic financial management, business planning, audit and compliance oversight, and business performance reporting to support IMTD Executive leadership team in the delivery of technology services to the department, schools and early learning and childcare centres.
About you
This position is accountable for a diverse range of services and to meet the needs of division, you will bring a customer centric and service excellence mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. You have:
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes, with a customer centric mindset
- Strong people leadership capability and in developing a culture of engagement, empowerment, continuous improvement and quality outcomes
- Significant experience in the development of briefs, papers etc for an executive audience
- Significant experience in financial management within information technology
- Experience in the development of policy, ideally within information technology
- Experience in business planning and alignment to organisational strategies and priorities
- Experience in audit, ideally within information technology
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline is highly desirable.
