Position Details
About the Department:
The 2024-25 State Budget provides $63.8 million in funding for the Improving Support for School Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Initiative. The initiative aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of government school employees, reduce mental injuries and to sustain and build upon improvements in the department's return to work performance. The initiative provides five program components that span promotion, prevention and response.
About the Division:
The team will support implementation of five components of the initiative to be delivered within the Employee Health Safety and Wellbeing Division:
• Early response Support for School Staff
• Principal return to Work Coordinator Program
• School Staff Wellbeing Promotion and Engagement
• OHS Mental Health Advisory Program
• Peer Supervision Groups
About the Role:
The Senior Data Analyst will join a small dynamic team who are passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing outcomes for school staff. The successful candidate will lead the provision of a comprehensive package of supports including data utilisation, reporting and advocating for evidence-based outcomes. This will include developing data dashboards for presentation to senior managers and executives and making data accessible and engaging for school audiences. The role will also involve identifying and addressing evolving data and evidence needs to enhance effectiveness and strategic decision-making.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in data acquisition or analysis, mathematics, and/or business analysis.
- Understanding of government, particularly within the education-sector or other related field.
- Demonstrated skills and experience with undertaking data and statistical analysis using data analytics tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
