Position Details
The Executive Director, Wellbeing, Health, and Engagement Division (WHED) holds a crucial leadership role within SEPS. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for a range of high-profile policies, programs, and initiatives across student health, wellbeing, and engagement, including a focus on vulnerable students, student safety and mental health.
Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, School Education Programs and Support (SEPS), we seek an executive who has a strong background in education and social policy, along with substantial experience in leading major reforms. You will be an exceptional leader who can inspire and motivate others to enhance outcomes for children and young people, especially those facing challenges. You will be focused on results and have a proven track record of making a positive impact.

SEPS has lead responsibility to shape the schooling system to provide every student with knowledge and capabilities and to ensure that children and young people are equipped to thrive in a changing world. SEPS leads policy development and program design to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes and ensure that all students, regardless of their background, are engaged and active learners.
WHED leads the department's efforts to improve and reform child and learner wellbeing, health and engagement. It plays a critical role in delivering the Victorian Government's commitment to build an education system that produces excellence and reduces the impact of disadvantage. The work of WHED is based on a strong foundation of collaboration with all relevant stakeholders both internal and external.
