About the Role

This is a full time fixed term role until 30 June 2027.

The Senior Data Officer is a critical role in the Out of Home Care Policy team, supporting the statewide workforce and key stakeholders to have the appropriate data to prioritise efforts and maximise the impact on outcomes for school aged children and young people in out of home care.

This role is part of a small team in the central Wellbeing Health and Engagement Division, and in close collaboration with the four regional LOOKOUT Centres, relevant central divisions and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH).

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Essential: Proficiency in using advanced formulas in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.  Proficiency in PowerPoint to create comprehensive data reports.

Desirable: Experience in structured query language (SQL) to query and manipulate data

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
