Position Details
About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Role
The role also ensures the department's performing arts studios, equipment, supplies and office in Collingwood are maintained, and assists with studio bookings. Reporting to the Performing Arts Unit Manager, the Administration Officer processes procurement/financial transactions and reports, and maintains databases and records. ICT knowledge is required to effectively use tools like Oracle, Excel and project management software. The role helps coordinate enquiries from stakeholders like parents, students, principals, teachers and suppliers, by taking phone calls and monitoring/actioning incoming emails.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join the Performing Arts Unit to help deliver the Victorian State Schools Spectacular and the Victorian Education Excellence Awards.
This role provides critical project, operational and administrative support to the planning and delivery of these high-profile initiatives that showcase excellence across Victorian government education. From supporting the production of one of Australia's largest student performing arts events to helping recognise the outstanding contributions of teachers, principals, business managers and education support staff who make a difference in schools and communities every day, this role contributes directly to programs that inspire, celebrate and connect Victorian students and educators.
The role also supports the day-to-day coordination and use of the department's performing arts studios in Collingwood, ensuring these creative spaces effectively support rehearsals, professional learning, and other departmental activities.
