About the Department
The role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.
About the Division
This role is located in the Wellbeing and Engagement Branch, Student Wellbeing and Engagement Division, North-Western Victoria Region, SRS. The Division works closely with education area teams and key central office program areas to promote and support regional and statewide consistency and lead professional practice and coordination across the region.
About the Role
Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) Coaches work with a caseload of schools to support the implementation of the SWPBS framework. The Team Leader SWPBS is responsible for overseeing the SWPBS Coach team, supporting schools to develop consistent, whole-school systems, to promote positive behaviour through the implementation of the SWPBS framework. Additionally, the Team Leader SWPBS, will provide coaching support for a caseload of schools.
Responsibilities include:
- People Leadership: assume some line management responsibilities (alongside the Wellbeing and Engagement Manager), coordinate regional SWPBS team meetings and planning, facilitate regional processes ensuring consistency and efficiency across the region, participate in recruitment of new SWPBS Coaches
- Service Delivery and Regional Communication; manage a reduced caseload of schools, manage regional communications, support improvement and innovation in regional service delivery, promote SWPBS within the region, support statewide communications
- Professional Learning and Coaching Support; lead onboarding and induction of new SWPBS Coaches, support ongoing professional development of coaches, provide mentoring and technical assistance for Coaches as needed
- Reporting; Support regional and central reporting on program implementation, outcomes and recommendations, support SWPBS Coaches to analyse data for improvement and planning

- have a good understanding of the organisational issues and pressures faced by school leaders and regional coaches
- build expertise within the team and schools in SWPBS through coaching and professional development
- demonstrate appropriate knowledge and expertise in guiding whole school change initiatives
- be confident and successful in working with a variety of stakeholders including school, area, division, and central leaders
- demonstrate the ability to use data to inform effective practice and continuous improvement
- be able to facilitate effective team meetings at the school and regional level, and provide ongoing support and technical assistance to school and regional colleagues when required
