Position Details
About the Role
This is a fixed term part time (0.7FTE) position until 30 June 2028 based in any of our 3 base offices in Benalla/Wangaratta/Wodonga.
The provisional psychologist will work under the supervision of a fully registered psychologist and will:
- Provide psychological support to school-age students to improve student learning and wellbeing.
- Work with other Allied Health professionals to undertake wellbeing interventions that support students and schools.
- Assess student needs, develop case plans and implement appropriate action from a range of accepted options.
- Support teachers in the development of educational programs, particularly in respect to students with additional needs.
- Assist other Allied Health team members to support schools to respond effectively to critical incidents.
- Support the provision of professional advice in relation to issues involving student wellbeing.
- Collaborate with other student support services team members in respect to complex cases.
- Liaise with community service organisations, DHHS, hospitals, specialist programs and other professionals regarding the support needs for students.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Essential: Eligibility for registration as a provisional psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
A graduate or post-graduate qualification in psychology. A tertiary degree in psychology.
