Position Details
Speech Pathologist - Speech Pathologists assess and develop strategies to address the speech, language, literacy and wellbeing needs of children, young people and their families, within an educational context. They work as part of multidisciplinary teams in schools and networks to support students and teachers. Provide comprehensive speech pathology services to schools, which affect developmental and learning outcomes and student wellbeing. This can encompass a broad range of areas including: learning issues, cognitive issues, behavioural issues, disabilities, speech and language needs, literacy and communication needs.

• Location: Inner Gippsland (Required to work across Inner Gippsland Area)
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly self-motivated team player to manage the delivery and quality of speech pathology services to schools in the Inner Gippsland area by providing high-level professional advice to principals and school networks that strongly influence student wellbeing and learning policy within the school network. The successful applicant will initiate, develop and implement student wellbeing and learning programs within the school network and will lead the Student Support Services team both professionally and operationally. This will include managing service delivery across the area and providing professional supervision and direction to other members of the area team.
The successful applicant will be able to provide expert advice and lead the development of teaching and learning strategies, prepare policy advice for consideration by the school network leadership team, and will possess sound written and verbal communication and analytical skills. The position requires the employee to intervene and provide direction in respect to more complex cases and/or issues within a school network.
The Inner Gippsland SSS Branch is made up of Speech Pathologists, Speech Pathologists, Social Workers, Administration Support, Team Leaders and a Branch Manager. As a member of this team, you will have access to a car to travel to various school locations (subject to availability), a laptop, an iPhone as well as access to an extensive assessment and resource library. The successful applicant will possess a graduate or post-graduate qualification in psychology or equivalent; have registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA) and possess a current Australian Drivers' License and Working with Children Check.
