About the Department
The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Role
As part of a large regional team, the Regional Project Officer will use a customer relationship management system to ensure program events, interactions and administration is maintained efficiently and effectively.
The Regional Project Officer role is focused on supporting delivery of the Career Start program through: organising regional events, procurement, implementing a range of customer and data management functions, and undertaking analysis and .

About the Division
The Workforce Policy and Strategy Division (WPSD) leads the department's strategic approach to the management and development of Victoria's school education workforce. It does this by:
- Establishing and maintaining coherent system-level workforce strategies for school and regional-based education workforces
- Providing DE with a centralised strategic policy capability, with expertise in workforce issues
- Providing an authoritative voice for DE on education workforce supply, demand and quality at a state-wide and local area level
- Maintaining departmental expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis of the school-based workforce to support investment, quality improvement, and
- regional/system-level workforce management decisions.
- Supporting strategic workforce planning though providing data and analysis on state-wide and local workforce trends.
- Building coherence for the Department's workforce policy and initiatives.
WPSD is responsible for the delivery of the Career Start program – which supports first-year graduate teachers to successfully transition into the classroom. Program supports delivered through the Career Start program include:
- Mentoring - to accelerate the development of graduate teacher teaching practice
- Networking - opportunities to network and learn with other graduate teachers via a local learning alliance
- Professional learning - designed to develop the professional identity, wellbeing and practice of graduate teachers.
Career Start is delivered in partnership between regional and central teams, and with close engagement with participating schools. The central team holds responsibility for the overall policy and program design, while regional teams implement the program with a focus on contextual responsiveness.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Prior experience in one or more of: procurement; events management; customer relationship management systems; budgeting, financial tracking and reporting; outcomes tracking and reporting; project management.
