About the Division
As a Division of the Academy, the Business Services Division leads the provision of quality Academy corporate support services and functions (including procurement, project management and program governance, human resources and culture architecture, finance, facilities management and, risk, audit and reporting) which enable successful operation of the Academy. In addition, the Business Services Division is responsible for the oversight, delivery and reporting of the performance and compliance obligations required of a statutory authority.
The Procurement and Project Management Office team is responsible for enabling and maintaining consistent practices in program and project management across the Academy as well as the oversight and reporting of the Academy's key performance metrics.
About the Role
The purpose of the Project Officer position is to undertake project management and support activities that contribute to the successful development and delivery of a range of Academy projects/initiatives and performance and governance outputs in line with established Academy and Department of Education policies and processes.
This role will:
- Build relationships and team cohesion within the team, division, the Academy and with relevant other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate leadership in coordinating multiple teams to deliver outputs against a project/initiative
- Provide secretariat and coordination functions to the Academy's operational governance structure and meetings
- Support, maintain and continuously improve the Academy's cross-divisional Operating Model
- Lead, manage and/or support various operational projects and initiatives, demonstrating initiative through prioritising and problem solving where required
- Collate, develop and disseminate various performance management outputs, such as reporting to the Department or Central Agencies on Performance Statement Targets, supporting the Academy's Standing Directions attestation work or oversight of internal operating dashboards.
Capabilities
You must have a strong ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships to effectively communicate and collaborate within a cross-disciplinary team to successfully reach agreed deliverables. You will have strong planning and organisational skills to be able to support, manage and lead projects/initiatives, to navigate program risks and make recommendations or decisions that support successful delivery, as well as be flexible in adapting to changes and competing priorities. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports and secretariat support.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Experience or qualifications in project or program management is mandatory
- Experience in a secretariat function is desirable
