Position Details
SES-2 Executive Director, Assessment
Leading a diverse team, the Executive Director will ensure quality development and delivery, facilitate initiatives to enable process improvement and foster an environment of collaboration and excellence.
The role provides expert assessment and reporting advice to support the development of continuous, comprehensive and coherent assessment and reporting systems aligned to the Victorian curriculum. Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Director leads a range of functions and plays a critical role in building and fostering relationships with stakeholders including schools in all sectors and the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre. The Executive Director is a member of the VCAA's executive leadership team and will be a valued partner to peers and colleagues, looking beyond their direct functional remit, to ensure joined up operations across the VCAA. The role will also support implementation of the recommendations of the Organisational Review.
The Executive Director, Assessment will:
- Provide strategic leadership, direction and management of the VCAA's Assessment Division.
- Lead VCE Examinations, including the development of VCE examinations, and the distribution, marking and results calculation for all written, performance and languages examinations.
- Lead the delivery and reporting of all VCE examinations, the delivery and assessment of National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests, On Demand testing and the development, delivery and marking of the General Achievement Test (GAT).
- Provide quality assurance and statistical moderation for senior secondary programs including VCE school-based assessments.
- Lead delivery of VCE, VPC and GAT certification for senior secondary students.
- Manage the Victorian Student Register and the issuing of Victorian Student Numbers.
- Oversee the development of digital and online assessment and marking.
- Lead the development and provision of the digital curriculum assessment resources for use in schools.
- Demonstrate sound time, people, financial and risk management.
- Prepare, coordinate and present submissions, policy responses, speeches and briefings.
