Position Details
The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Assessment and Reporting Division in the Assessment Operations Unit for a fixed term position.
- Salary: $ 113,022 - $136,747 (Plus Superannuation of 11.5%)
- Fixed term till 31 December 2025
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexible work conditions may be available before and after the VCE external assessment processing periods)
- Usual work location: Coburg Assessment Centre
Role purpose
This is a fixed term full time roll till 31/12/2025.
Working in the Examination Planning and Logistics team, the Senior Program Advisor is responsible for developing and managing processes and identifying, recruiting and managing resources associated with the conduct and administration of VCE external assessments including Northern Hemisphere Timetable (NHT), Victorian Assessment Timetable (VAT) and General Achievement Test (GAT).
The main components of the role include but are not limited to:
- planning, monitoring and resourcing of tasks associated with the management, distribution and collection of all VCE external assessments materials throughout Victoria, interstate and overseas.
- Overseeing the development of training modules for VCE external assessment supervisors and casual processing resources.
- coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient and timely packing, distribution and collection of VCE external assessment materials including alternative format examinations.
- Oversee the secure courier supplier by monitoring their performance and ensuring that all deliveries and collections are completed securely and according to approved schedules.
- Lead a team of staff ensuring all VCAA procedures and policies, and quality assurance processes are followed to ensure efficient and timely processing of critical VCE external assessment response materials and related information as per agreed processing schedules.
- providing authoritative advice to Senior Management, schools, supervisors and other stakeholders on issues related to the conduct and administration of VCE external assessments.
About the unit
The Assessment Operations unit is responsible for:
- logistical and administrative processes associated with the conduct and administration of VCE external assessments
- development, implementation and review of the VCE examination timetable and associated assessment schedules
- training and monitoring of sessional staff appointed to mark VCE external assessments
- managing the marking of externally assessed VCE assessments including the GAT
- developing, managing the implementation and review of the VCAA Special Provision policy and procedures.

Experience and qualifications
Desirable: Relevant qualification or experience in Project and Program Management.
