About the Department
The role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.
About the Victorian School Building Authority
The VSBA upgrades and expands existing schools and plans, designs and builds new schools to meet enrolment demand. We also support schools to maintain their buildings and grounds by offering expert advice and coordinating maintenance programs and grants.
About the Division
The Corporate Division provides corporate support to all VSBA teams and fulfills an important assurance and oversight role. They guide VSBA to achieve strategic objectives and ensure decision-making is transparent and accountable.
About the Role
The Budget and Finance Branch's core purpose is to maintain strong financial management practices across all aspects of the VSBA, and as a result, see financial impacts considered as a part of all decision making.
The purpose of the Finance Business Partner's role is to provide financial management support to program areas within the VSBA. The Finance Business Partner is responsible for undertaking financial performance analysis, preparing and submitting budget phasings and finance journals in consultation with program areas, improving financial processes and supporting budget management reporting.
Key Accountabilities
Expert financial advice and support to internal customers
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
- Assist with the review of costings for business areas under the relevant portfolio
Financial administration
- Maintenance of accurate data, records, databases and information management systems
- Prepare and submit budget phasings and finance journals as required
Stakeholder management
- Establish and manage relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, particularly key contacts in business areas
- Support stakeholders to under budget reports, financial policies, processes and systems as systems

- Desirable : Membership CPA, CA or equivalent
