About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Performance Reporting and Analytics, the Senior Project Officer plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality analysis and insights that support informed decision-making across the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA).
The Performance Reporting and Analytics (PRA) Unit provides the VSBA's key reporting functions, supporting internal governance, departmental accountabilities, ministerial requirements, and whole-of-government (WOVG) obligations. The team partners closely across VSBA's operational and early childhood teams, delivering critical reporting for capital delivery programs, performance monitoring, and strategic decision-making.
As part of this team, you will engage with stakeholders, source and analyse information, and prepare clear, high-quality briefings, reports and advice for senior executives and governance forums, including the Portfolio Management Committee (PMC), and the Offices of the Minister for Children and the Minister for Education. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including streamlining reporting processes and adopting new data tools.
Employment type: Two VPS5 full-time, fixed-term (until 30 June 2028) positions are available.
Key responsibilities:
- Collect, analyse and interpret information to support accurate and timely performance reporting.
- Prepare high-quality written material including dashboards, reports, and executive briefings.
- Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure reporting needs are met.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process efficiencies and adoption of new reporting tools.
- Support the PRA Unit's role in providing reporting that underpins internal governance, departmental, ministerial, and whole-of-government requirements.
- Collaborate with other VSBA teams to monitor project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to improvement initiatives.The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, analytical professional with strong stakeholder management skills and a proactive approach. You can turn complex data into meaningful insights and communicate findings clearly and effectively. Your experience in performance reporting and understanding of governance processes enable you to deliver reporting products that inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications and skills highly desired: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power Query
- Experience in performance reporting and data analysis
- Experience with Oracle Primavera Cloud, Oracle Aconex, Oracle ERP, and/or IBM Maximo is highly regarded
