Position Details
About the Role
The Policy Manager is responsible for leading a team to develop, implement and monitor strategic plans and policies in line with departmental objectives. The incumbent will lead a small team to manage policy projects, as well as undertake complex policy analysis.
This role provides an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong leadership and people management skills to lead a team of policy and program advisors and work collaboratively with the broader leadership team. This role will provide an opportunity to be part of a dynamic environment to support the development and implementation of the department's mental health reforms. Experience and skills in people management, strategic planning, policy and project management, stakeholder management, and problem solving are a crucial part of this role.
The Manager will lead the Mental Health Policies and Programs team to:
- oversee the coordination and delivery of contracts within the Student Mental Health Branch;
- be involved in the development and implementation of mental health policy;
- liaise with key stakeholders across the department and with externally; and
- support teams to produce high-quality written work, including presentations, reports and briefings.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification in education, health/mental health or related field.
