DIRECTOR, MELBOURNE AIRPORT RAIL LINK AND NETWORK DEVELOPMENT

  • $178,500 TO $231,439 Total Remuneration Package

The position of Director, Melbourne Airport Rail Link and Network Development forms a part of the Asset and Networks Division and Transport for Victoria Group.

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Network Development, this position is responsible for the development of a preliminary business case for a rail link to Melbourne Airport and the development of an integrated rail network development plan.

The role is a key leadership position for the Department and Transport for Victoria, and involves providing recommendations on the optimal alignment and delivery of a rail link between Melbourne Airport and the central city of Melbourne. The position will also require the planning, development and integration of the regional and metro rail networks.

The Director will provide authoritative advice and information to the Secretary, Head, Transport for Victoria and transport portfolio Ministers on key transport issues and implementation priorities in developing the preliminary business case including network context, process, governance, and deliverables.

The position will work collaboratively across the Transport executive, relevant Ministers, other DEDJTR Groups including the Office of Coordinator General, Infrastructure Australia, Infrastructure Victoria, Commonwealth Government departments, a wide range of industry stakeholders, local councils and community interest groups.

To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in leading and developing a highly complex and sensitive business case with competing priorities and stakeholders. Demonstrated effective leadership attributes with the ability to lead, motivate and successfully develop a multi-disciplinary workforce is vital to this role.
