Manager, Early Learning Unit

The Manager, Early Learning Unit leads a program of initiatives to support the implementation of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework for Department of Education and Training funded programs, most notably early childhood education and care services delivering a funded kindergarten program. The role is responsible leading an effective team and is required to influence internal and external stakeholders to support the highest possible learning and development outcomes for children. This role directly manages a number of high-profile projects and professional learning supports. This role has ten direct reports and is responsible for managing a budget of over $5 million.

An exciting opportunity exists to join the team leading the signifncant early childhood and pre-prep reforms in the Victorian Department of Education and Training.

The Manager, Early Learning Unit leads a high performing team implementating the diverse and dymanic suite of professional practice and quality supports for the early childhood educator workforce in Victoria's funded early learning programs. The successful candidate with have experience in people management, program and project management and working with diverse stakeholders. Candidates with expertise in adult learning theory and research, advice on early childhood pedagogy and initiative design with knowledge of early childhood service operations will be highly regarded. Public sector management experience will also be highly valued.
