Systems Tester

The purpose of this role is to support the Business Systems Unit. You will be responsible to ensure timely delivery and high quality service and support to the Department of Education and Training (DET) and funded organisations who utilise the DET applications. The Systems Tester will be responsible for the testing process as well as writing and executing test cases for one or more software development projects. The Systems Tester should have at least 7+ years of Testing experience working on all phases of testing, including Functional, System, Integration and Security (optional). Knowledge on automation testing is desirable for this role. The Systems Tester is accountable for User Acceptance Testing and testing relating to the successful project delivery of both Project and Production applications, including developing and executing test case documentation.

Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated and passionate Systems Tester  to support the Department of Education and Training.

Situated within the Department of Education and Training's Strategy and Integration Division, the Business Systesm Unit (BSU) leads, develops and supports the Department's Early Learning and Health and Well-being information systems, and collaborates on related organisational change. It does this by: linking Early Childhood Education (ECE) and School Education Programs and Support (SEPS) information requirements and their technological solutions; delivering services and projects for and on behalf of sponsors in ECE and SEPS; and, supporting requests from regional offices and services across the state

BSU is a multi-disciplinary team with expertise in information systems that support policy and practice and collaborates/partners with Information Technology Division, ECE and SEPS Divisions, and Procurement and Financial Services Divisions. BSU have skills in project management, business analysis, system testing and administration, helpdesk, business change, training and communications to deliver work, and governance, procurement and financial skills to manage the work.
