Quality Assessment and Regulation Division (QARD) licenses and regulates about 4,600 early childhood education and care services operating across Victoria. We strive to be a best practice regulator and use a range of strategies to deliver regulatory outcomes. Our role is to ensure service operators provide safe, high-quality learning environments for children attending their services.

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated team player to join the Service Administration and Support Unit, Quality Assessment and Regulation Division (QARD), in the Department of Education and Training, the Victorian Regulatory Authority for early childhood education and care services. We are looking for an individual with demonstrated skills in a processing environment, ensuring all prescribed information is reviewed, assessed, and clearly articulated in making recommendations on applications for decision to the delegate. A strong ability to assess risk and grasp and utilise regulatory concepts and practices is required, in addition to excellent written and verbal communications skills which are essential.

The successful candidate will also have demonstrated experience in effective management of relationships with internal and external stakeholders and high-level interpersonal skills and communication skills.

This is a full time, fixed term position at the VPS4 level based in Melbourne

 Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulation theory and practice and an understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and Children's Services Act, and their respective regulations, is an advantage.
