Position Details

Child Link Support Officer - Ongoing/Full Time x 2 Positions 

Child Link is a new and innovative system within government which has been built on best-in-class technology, incorporating a Master Data Management (MDM) platform and cloud-based services. Child Link creates child profiles that show education and wellbeing service engagement for Victorian children using data across several service source systems. The technology solution is configured with business rules which are essential to the function of Child Link, along with accompanying operational processes and procedures in order to ensure the child profiles are managed in accordance with the legislation.

Reporting to the Systems Operations Manager, the Child Link Support Officer will join a dedicated technology operations team setup to support Child Link. The Child Link Support Officer will be responsible for dealing with user queries and investigations, administering user access, and providing day-to-day support across Child Link.

The Child Link Support Officer will be responsible for providing end to end technical support for Child Link. They will be providing support to users and stakeholders both internal and external to the Department of Education and Training. You will join a newly created technology operations team which has been established to support, enhance and maintain Child Link within DET.

The Child Link Support Officer's key activities will include;

  • Technical support - answering support calls from users and processing support requests.
  • Providing consultation, trouble shooting and advisory service to system users.
  • Logging and maintaining support requests to ensure all requests for support including incidents are dealt with according to agreed standards and procedures.
  • Investigation and resolution of issues, system modifications, updating documentation and defining enhancements.
  • System monitoring with real-time monitoring tools (Splunk).
  • Contribute to the development of system documentation, processes and knowledge base.
  • Assist in system analysis and testing activities.
  • Manage access to the system.
  • Produce system reports and data for stakeholders.
  • Help improve business processes, reporting and monitoring.
