This full time, ongoing Senior Project Officer role contributes to the strategic policy, design and project development activities and advice relating to early childhood learning and development. Working as a member of a dedicated and enthusiastic team in the Early Leaning Unit, with close collaboration with a wide range of department colleagues across various divisions, and the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, the work primarily involves the implementation of the Transition to School Initiative.

Position Details


To succeed in this Senior Project Officer role, you will have demonstrated policy and project management skills, a comprehensive understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the Transition to School Initiative.

Strong policy analysis and strategic planning skills that contribute to design effective strategies to contribute to the implementation of the early years Education State reforms will be valuable attributes.

In addition, you will have excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communications skills (including written communication skills) and be able to work as a collaborative team player as part of an effective, hardworking team. A sound knowledge and experience of procurement processes and project management and stakeholder management are essential aspects of the work.

Experience and/or relevant tertiary qualifications in early childhood or primary education are desirable.
