Our Division is the Victorian Regulatory Authority for early childhood education and care and school age care services. We drive the delivery of high quality services and ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of Victoria’s children using those services. We are looking for a highly motivated team player with demonstrated expertise in early childhood education and/or social regulation. This position involves reporting significant risk and emerging issues in relation to compliance, and developing positive relationships with key stakeholders to support capacity building in services.

Position Details

The role of the Senior Children's Services Authorised Officer (SCSAO) will be supervised by the Area Manager, Quality Assessment and Regulation (QAR).

The SCSAO is responsible for conducting assessment and rating visits, compliance visits, and planning and leading investigations as part of the core functions of the Regulatory Authority, performed in adherence with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (National Law) and Victorian Children's Services Act 1996 (Victorian Law). The role requires high level interpersonal skills and communication skills.

The role will also facilitate coaching and mentoring to the Department colleagues including Children's Services Authorised Officers in preparing and conducting assessment and rating visits, managing enquiries, complaints and incident notifications, and conducting investigations.

The role will at times have responsibility for key regulatory functions as determined by the Area Manager.

The SCSAO position will work collaboratively across other QAR regional areas.

The position will also involve travel which may include overnight stays.

This is a full time (1.0 FTE), ongoing Senior Children's Services Authorised Officer position at the VPS 5 level, based in Dandenong.
