Project Officer, PSD Transition Project

We are seeking an enthusiastic Project Officer for the Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD) Transition Project in the Wellbeing Health and Engagement Division. The Victorian Government’s commitments to inclusive education are outlined in the Special Needs Plan for Victorian Government Schools and the Government’s response to the Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD) Review. The PSD Transition Project will address the PSD Review’s funding-related recommendations, and pilot and refine tools and processes for the development of a new school disability funding and support model. This position offers an opportunity provide engage in a complex policy area and contribute to a whole-of-Department reform agenda for students with disabilities and additional needs.

Position Details

Project Officer, PSD Transition Project VPSG4 1.0 FTE fixed term until 31/12/2018

The Project Officer, Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD) Transition Project, will play a key role in the Department's inclusive education agenda for students with disabilities and additional needs, which includes reform to the existing PSD funding and support model for Victorian government schools.

The successful applicant will contribute to the Department's priorities and a program of activities and policies across the Department and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The successful applicant will have an understanding of government processes, program delivery, and strong written communication and organisational skills.

Key responsibilities for delivery of the PSD Transition Project include project planning and implementation, providing policy and program advice, analysis, reporting and conceptual thinking. The capacity to maintain strong and collaborative relationships with school staff will be essential.

The position will report to the Manager, PSD Transition Project.
