Senior Policy Officer

The Early Learning Participation Branch is responsible for managing Victoria’s funded kindergarten program, along with a number of supporting initiatives to engage vulnerable children, including Early Start Kindergarten and Access to Early Learning for three year olds, the Early Childhood Agreement for Children in Out of Home Care and the Best Start program. It comprises three units: Early Learning Operations Early Learning Participation and Early Years Management Best Start While each of these units has specific responsibilities, collaboration is essential and key projects are undertaken with input from across the Branch. Staff may work across the units subject to priorities and resourcing.

Position Details

An exciting opportunity is available for a fixed term VPS5 Senior Policy and Program Officer within the Early Learning and Participation Branch of the Department of Education Training. You will contribute to the important work of the Early Learning and Participation Branch through supporting the development, delivery and monitoring of key early learning programs and projects including:

• policy design, monitoring and implementation

• project management

• liaising with regional offices, other Government Departments and key stakeholders

• preparing information for Ministerial offices and senior executives as required
