The Branch leads policy advice and programs on a range of issues, including mental health, anti-bullying, student engagement, child safety and prevention of family violence. Position Details

Senior Policy Officer, Engagement, Inclusion and Support VPSG5, 6 full-time positions available

x3 Ongoing full-time

x3 12 months fixed-term

The Engagement, Inclusion and Support Branch is a key part of the Department's Wellbeing, Health and Engagement Division.  The Branch works on issues that affect the whole school student population.  Roles are currently available in the Branch's:

  • Intervention and Service Design Unit, whose work includes mental health policy, hospital schools, child safety, prevention of child abuse and the School Breakfast Club program;
  • Wellbeing and Engagement Unit, whose work includes anti-bullying, cyber safety, student engagement, attendance and expulsions reform; and
  • Social Cohesion and Family Violence Reform Unit, whose work includes implementation of Royal Commission into Family Violence recommendations in early childhood, schools and the higher education and skills sectors.

As a Senior Policy Adviser you will be the lead adviser on a set of key issues, working as part of a team.  You will provide policy analysis and advice to support decision makers, be responsible for stakeholder relationships, prepare briefs, reports, discussion papers and other advice and support the management of programs.
