Position Details

This role comes under the Learning and Teaching Branch, which strategically aligns and coordinates policy, advice and programs to support contemporary teaching and learning practices and broaden educational opportunities. The Branch supports learning accelerated by digital technologies and manages and promotes online systems, tools and resources. It also leads Languages and STEM education.

The role includes:

- raising the profile of Numeracy and Mathematics education in schools and across central and regional offices

- leading the consolidation, extension and evaluation of Departmental supports for educators, leaders and families in Numeracy and Mathematics education, including the Mathematics Teaching Toolkit and the Victorian Maths Challenge

- promoting and extending the evidence-base that informs the Department's work in Numeracy and Mathematics education

- contributing to, designing and developing connected capacity building options across the system to drive collective responsibility for improved Numeracy and Mathematics outcomes.
