Position Details

Senior Policy Officer  - This is a fixed term, full time (1.0 FTE) position at the VPS5 level, based in Melbourne CBD.

Role includes:

• Providing well informed and concise advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative policy options to senior leadership to address emerging regulatory practice and policy issues, including work to support Victoria's strategic interests in national forums.

• Supporting the Division's legislative reform agenda through sound policy and program advice, training, resources, and other communication strategies.

• Preparing a range of materials for internal and external audiences, such as reports, briefs, presentations, and publications.

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.

• Legal qualifications are not required, but knowledge of the following would be an advantage:

o regulation theory and practice, and the early childhood sector o stakeholder consultation on legislative reform proposals.

• Successful applicants will be required to hold a valid Victorian Working with Children's Check or Victorian Institute of Teaching registration upon commencement.
