Financial Services Division: Design and implement financial management principles, processes and systems to ensure that the Department and its managers in central office, regions, schools and statutory authorities have the necessary support to execute their financial management responsibilities. Schools Finance and Resources Branch: Manage the efficient and effective allocation of resources to government and non-government schools, congruent with the Government priorities and school education reform agenda within the Finance Policy and Infrastructure Services Group strategic planning and budget framework. Support data analysis for school funding reform in Victorian government schools within the approved budget provision and facilitate sound financial management in schools through the design and development of support mechanisms and systems, and continuous professional development.

Position Details

The role of Director, Schools Finance and Resources Branch provides the unique opportunity to:

  • To lead and manage a diverse group of approximately 35 financial professionals in the areas of budgeting, financial modelling, financial reporting data analytics and governance activities in schools. 
  • To provide leadership in stakeholder management for key schools stakeholder groups and to ensure systems, policies and training are in place to facilitate strong financial management in schools and for school councils. 
  • Advise the CFO, Audit and Risk Committee and Budget & Financial Management Committee on trends in school data and identify issues through monthly reporting.
  • Provide data analytics and support to the School Funding and Expenditure Committee.
