Senior Policy Officer

The Policy and Strategy Division (PSD) of the Higher Education and Skills Group is currently seeking Senior Policy Officers to fill a number of vacancies across two of its business units. The Strategic Projects and Insights unit conceptualises and leads on strategic responses to the Government’s emerging priorities for the VET system; and produces analytical insights that deepens the understanding of the State’s VET system performance, including considering connections between the VET, schools and higher education sectors. The National Reform unit supports the Minister and senior departmental officials to engage with external stakeholders, the Commonwealth and other state and territory governments on intergovernmental issues relating to the Australian tertiary education system

2x VPS5 Senior Policy Officer, full-time, ongoing positions available

These roles provide an exciting opportunity to positively contribute to the division's priorities and help ensure the publicly funded TAFE and training sector is meeting Government, industry and student expectations.

To meet these expectations PSD delivers sound policy and strategy insights and projects; manages the policy settings and budget for the accredited training system, including engagement with the national VET system; and oversees VET data reporting, standards, and governance.
